Our prayer
God of love and compassion, justice, peace, truth and freedom, as we construct the Denis Hurley Centre, we pray that you will build in us these values so strongly promoted by Archbishop Hurley.
We give thanks for all the blessings you have given to the Denis Hurley Centre Project, humbly remembering that "Unless the Lord builds the house, they labour in vain who build it.” (Psalm 127:1)
Help us to ensure:
- that this Centre will bridge all the divisions of our society;
- that it will serve the poorest and most vulnerable, whatever their race or faith;
- and that in this Centre all will find their God-given dignity honoured and valued.
Only you can bind us together in the unity you desire for all your people: may our diversity bring us great blessings and enrichment.
Bless all who work for this project and all who donate to it. Keep safe all involved in the Centre’s construction.
Help us to raise the funds needed for our temporary accommodation and to complete, furnish, equip and staff the Denis Hurley Centre.
May the Centre be well used and loved, maintained and developed for generations to come as an enabling environment for care, education and community – and as a catalyst for uplifting the whole neighbourhood.
AMEN
